ORESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE - ODE TO A BLACK HOLE
space rock productions 2016, edition of 500
"We are a music collective from Denmark and Sweden that play totally improvised space rock music. We have released 18 records since 2006. Music for your mind to escape the Matrix..." - OSC bandcamp
euro space rock outfit ORESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE have been churning out their own hybrid brand of stoner psych jams for more than a decade now, intersecting the orbits of bands like CARLTON MELTON and ELECTRIC MOON, channeling all the old guard of krautrock and beyond - ODE is "inspired by BONG...something completely different from anything OSC has ever released" says their write-up which goes a long way to summarize this deep space drifter, way out beyond all their albums i've heard, almost straight into EXPO 70 territory, sort of splitting the difference between BONG and THE COSMIC DEAD -- in that way, ODE makes an impressive counterpoint to favored BONG parallel project BLOWN OUT's pummeling groove assault, providing an equal and opposite cosmic counterweight that is every bit as heavy, stoned and zoned - a massive two-sided fifty minute sprawling kosmische track that waits til the last inch of vinyl to deliver a glorious anthemic stoner doom finale
