L'EOSCOMBU COUTI - FIVE CAMBRIDGE UTILITIES
YORISHIRO - I
constellation tatsu 2016, editions of ?
double rec cherrypicking CONSTELLATION TATSU's "spring batch" - these two have racked up a bunch of miles around here already and there's a lot more left on both of em for sure
FIVE CAMBRIDGE UTILITIES is a gorgeous hushed ambient work, classic in vibe and approach, tapping into the OBSCURE catalog and ENO's APOLLO, accented with some WINDY & CARL pitter-patter stargazing guitar, finding contemporaries in CLOUDSOUND, SEAN MCCANN and WILLAMETTE, sometimes it kinda makes me think BRAEYDEN JAE with his immersed distortion washed away - this is one of those tapes you can't flip over and start again fast enough
YORISHIRO I is a rather unexpected side from CONSTELLATION TATSU - i hear DATE PALMS desert fried kosmische, ETERNAL TAPESTRY cosmic krautrock and MOON DUO hypnotic yet catchy motorik jams, seeming well guided by the same profound sources underlying EXPO 70 sonic meditation, SPACEMEN 3 acid spritualism and SUN ARAW stoner mysticism, blended and distilled into a varied yet cohesive work, a smooth yet multifaceted debut (?) that sinks in deeper and sets in stronger with each successive listen
