IS THERE A HEAVEN, the stunning conclusion to BP's record store day trilogy, the only band to aspire to, let alone realize what i think rsd should be - which is not reissue, repackage or cash grab but cater to fans with new and exclusive work that is particularly exciting to fans but also lends itself to a broader population of analog music lovers - for the past 3 years BP have delivered brilliantly executed rather high profile cover songs that rank as essential for BP fans, at least one of which should resonate with almost anyone willing to stand in line on rsd - FUNKADELIC maggot brain, PHAROAH SANDERS the creator has a master plan, THE VELVET UNDERGROUND ride into the sun, BRIAN ENO here come the warm jets, and come tomorrow, ROXY MUSIC in every dream home a heartache and ALBERT AYLER music is the healing force of the universe - i don't know whether or not that song title is true, but i am glad that my favorite band ever seems to believe so
AYE AYE is another killer BARDO POND side project, not as massive as the bulk of BP's back catalog but makes up for it by zoning hard, more recreational than reverential but always that underlying zeal being clerics of heavy psychedelia, second to none, PURLING HISS collaborator HARMONICA DAN delivers huge echoing spaced out tones that compliment the gibbons brothers style and vision while highlighting their affinity for the blues, there's no such thing as non-essential BP, and since this is already sold out at the source you better get it while you can, looks like LITTLE BIG CHIEF still has some
